Indak 24/7 wins back-to-back title at Healthway Medical’s Dance for Health 3

Healthway Medical—the most trusted and preferred mall-based clinics in the Philippines—recently capped off its third annual Dance for Health competition at the Alabang Town Center. For the second time in row, Indak [24]7 Dance Force won the yearly competition. Indak [24]7 Dance Force—the official dance troupe of [24]7 Customer Philippines, Inc.—claimed their second championship title after besting seven other teams. The group took home PhP 75,000.00 and premium merchandise from Salem Beds. Dance for Health is the annual dance battle launched by Healthway Medical to encourage corporations to join its advocacy in promoting a healthy lifestyle among Filipino employees. According to Carmie De Leon, vice president for sales and marketing of Healthway Medical, employers need to put a premium on their employees’ health for them to become more productive at work and at home. “Being healthy brings a lot of advantages not only to individuals but also to the whole workforce,” De Leon said. “That’s why when we launched the Dance for Health, we had corporations in mind—we want employers to put value on the health benefits of exercising and how this activity can improve their employees’ productivity.” De Leon said that the Dance For Health competition was first launched to celebrate the company’s anniversary. Now, “we decided to make it a full-blown advocacy for Healthway to easily reach out to corporations and encourage them to move to a healthier lifestyle.” Eight different teams from some of the country’s biggest corporations danced their way to win this year’s Dance for Health championship crown. The judges were Elijah Africa, a freelance yoga instructor in major hotels such as DusitThani Manila and Makati Shangri-La Hotel; Jill Ngo, one of the country’s top belly dancers; and Mark Angeles, a licensed Zumba fitness instructor in the Philippines. Power Dance Company of Powered IOX Events and Entertainment Production bagged third place and received PhP25,000. Meanwhile, the IOX Dance Crew of Powered IOX Marketing Services won second place and received PhP40,000 and special Healthway merchandise. The 30-year-old Chicco Cleofe, the lead dancer for Indak [24]7, said that the team doubled their effort to defend their championship crown. “Pinaghandaan talaga naming ito. Nagsacrifice talaga kami para makuha yung title. Nagpay-off naman siya. Kaya I’m very happy with Healthway kasi dinaos nila ulit ito. Mas naging fierce lang yung competition kaya tinaasan din naming yung level of confidence at effort namin kasi alam namin na competitive din yung ibang teams na sumali,” Cleofe said. He continued, “Kaya salamat talaga sa Healthway sa pag-initiate ng ganitong event. Sana ipagpatuloy niyo pa ito para mas marami kayong mapasaya at matulungan. Ang ganda kasi eh, it’s for a good cause: to promote healthy living talaga lalo na sa mga tulad naming magdamag nasa office. Sa lahat ng nagtiwala samin, maraming salamat and see you again next year.”

The Dance for Health 3 is part of Healthway Medical’s Sleep, Eat Right, Exercise and De-stress (S.E.E.D.) campaign, which aims to raise the bar in promoting a healthy lifestyle among Filipinos. De Leon concluded, “Employers are expected to be more proactive in helping their employees maintain a holistic well-being because this makes them more productive. More importantly, keeping your employees healthy also makes them happier, and happy people are always passionate about their jobs and life, in general. At Healthway Medical, we help make Filipino employees do their best in the healthiest way possible.”

Pharex launches new 15-day Compliance Pouch to beat high cholesterol this 2016

With one in every three Filipinos having high cholesterol levels, how could they control its onset without sacrificing what this year has to offer—on the table?
A study on cholesterol levels among Filipinos led by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute revealed that 31.4 percent of Filipino adults 20 years old and over had “borderline high to high cholesterol levels.” Now that the New Year is here, it is often challenging to control huge consumptions of food—particularly those that are rich in cholesterol—knowing that annual festivities and birthday celebrations are here left and right.
Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in fats in the blood. Though cholesterol is needed by the body because it is essential to building healthy cells, too much of it could increase a person’s chance of having cardiovascular disease.
“Some people make it a point to reduce their consumption of cholesterol-rich foods especially now that another year has been capped off,” said Tomas Luke Marcelo Agana III, president and CEO of Pharex HealthCorp. “But enjoying what the New Year brings need not come at the expense of sacrificing your year-long joy and family bondings especially when stories are better shared on the table.”
Bearing that in mind, Pharex HealthCorp.—the most prescribed generic brand of medicines—introduces its 15-day Pharex Compliance Pouch for Cholesterol to help Filipino adults who are prone to high cholesterol adhere to their medication without compromising their plans this 2016.
With the new Pharex Compliance Pouch for Cholesterol, Filipinos may prevent the rise of their cholesterol levels by adhering to therapy without sacrificing their budget. This means that Filipinos with high cholesterol may get the same effective, quality maintenance medicines good for 15 days that’s 50 percent more affordable when compared to an imported brand.
“Ideally, the new Compliance Pouch is made for patients who are currently taking maintenance medicines to keep their cholesterol at its normal and desirable levels,” Agana said. “Now, Filipino patients may conveniently take their prescribed medication wherever they go in anytime of the day.”
The new Pharex Compliance Pouch for Cholesterol is indicated for patients who have elevated bad cholesterol or low-density lipoprotein (LDL). This type of cholesterol builds up in the walls of the arteries, causing them to harden or become narrower. When left untreated, this may lead to heart attack.
“High cholesterol can be inheritable, but it often comes as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle,” Agana said. “While it is important to religiously take your medication as prescribed by your doctor, it is also imperative to watch what you eat and visit your doctor regularly.”
Pharex Compliance Pouch for Cholesterol is so much more convenient. It comes in a resealable, water-resistant foil pouch that keeps its contents clean and dry. And it is easy to carry so patients will never miss their regular dose.
He concluded, “Pharex makes quality healthcare more affordable and accessible to Filipinos. As the New Year starts, make sure that you carry the Pouch with you to prevent the life-threatening consequences of high cholesterol.”

With great power comes with great responsibility – Ben Parker

CD-R King Your one stop shop gives you an insightful iRover safety usage. The stylish and frolicsome appeal of iRover maybe mistaken as a toy. It is apparent to many that your futuristic iRover/hoverboard is fun to play with, but it is far from being a toy.

As per DTI’s consumer’s safety requirement, it should be clear to hoverboard enthusiasts that the gadget is intended for age 14 and above. We need to realize that we should exercise proper care when
using anything that has 2-wheels. Protective gear such as helmet and wrist guards, elbow and knee pads should be worn whenever onboard a hoverboard.

In maneuvering towards left, slightly put weight on the right portion of iRover, while in turning right the left portion should bear more weight. Battery Recharging is 6 hours and should be done with extreme caution. Presence of an adult should be sternly considered while youthful exuberance are being displayed by the youngsters. MBF: NO SPOILER #BeforeIDo by Kath Eustaquio-Derla

One of human's unique challenges that usually happen during the first quarter of his life, is his relationship status. And this book just hits home.

***
When I was in college, my professor in Environmental Engineering told us to describe how engineering could impact the environment. He choses a random essay, and yup, napili niya 'yung essay ko. I generally use the word "he" to describe humanity, and bias daw ako tapos nagulat siya na 'yung binasa niyang essay ay sulat ng babae. Mag-eexplain sana ako eh, pero hindi na, I let it go. Buti na lang hindi niya binanggit name ko while reading my essay aloud.
The point is, bias talaga ako, minsan nang naging theme song ng buhay ko ang "If I Were a Boy" ni Beyonce, pero hindi ako lesbian. Parang ganito oh...
See? Pagbabae, it's complicated talaga. Maraming choices, at kapag walang options, gumagawa tayo ng options. Options. Options. Options. Minsan pa, sa dami na ng pagpipilian, wala pa rin tayong mapusuan. Be it clothes to wear, lipstick, nail polish, where to eat, food to order, dine in or take out, may sauce o wala.

Before I Do is a hilarious, catty, and heart-breaking read for every Filipina who wants the whole wedding shebang but not the *gulp* responsibilities of marriage.
Well, this book will hit you, hard on the face, twice.
#BeforeIDo kept me on the edge of my seat! And as much as I tried to take my time digesting this book, the cliff hangers stopped me from stopping!!! Gets mo? The cliff hangers, grabe! If wala kang imagination, this book will make you sprout one! This really is hilarious, catty and heart-breaking af!
If you're a girl who wants the wedding production but not the responsibilities of a marriage, this one's for you. And for sure, lahat ng girls kahit in denial stage pa, iyan ang gusto deep inside.
Keeping the book and the letter. ðŸ’“ A reread is in order while feeding the sleepy infant. #BeforeIDo.
Yep, read it twice already! At magkakaroon pa ng third ito malamang. Kapag kasi bet ko ang book, more than once ko siya binabasa. Parang perfume and music, kapag naamoy o narinig mo, me-naaalala ka. "Before I Do" reminds me of my last boyfriend and my wedding preparation.
The first photo was my bouquet. My wedding theme was sunflower yellow and snailshell brown. Landi lang 'no? Hear me out first. Eh kasi naman I love sunflowers because they face the sun, and sunrise means hope. Facing the sun is like finding hope for me and snailshell, because hubby gave me a keychain made out of a snail's shell, aside from my coconut coin bank (na isang buwan daw niyang pinakain sa langgam para maalis 'yung coconut meat sa loob without breaking the shell). TMI, I know! Pak na pak sa hashtag #gerilenmbf. Hindi ko na naabutan ang wild sunflower season ng Baguio (March) and fortunately, like ko din ang gerbera, kaya 'yun.
Nakakaexcite magprepare ng wedding, madrama. Madrama talaga, you have to meet both ends (the dream wedding and the reality of budget). I cried more than once (joys and fears) during our preparation.
At bago ka magprepare ng wedding, may drama din. I already said my vows and I did enjoy the book!
If you are looking for a chic lit to read, get this! Grab a copy or two! This is one of the best reads you could give to your friends ('wag magdamot! Sharing is caring!) na katulad mo ding may pinagdadaanan, ehem, kaway kaway quarter life crisis.
Watch out for my tell-all pasabog about the protagonist and the author!  Abang lang! Makakasakay ka din. ;)
