Last Summer Hurrah: Enjoy the Final Days of Summer with Nestea in a Bottle

With just a blink of an eye, the season is changing from sunny to rainy and our swimsuits and flip-flops are replaced with raincoats and boots. And while it’s never easy to say goodbye to summer, there are ways to make the most out of its remaining days.
Go to a concert. Summer nights are best spent listening to your favorite artists live with your favorite people. The last days of the summer are usually filled with artists, both local and international, celebrating the summer that was in anticipation of a new season. So let loose, enjoy the music, and make fun memories you wouldn’t easily forget.
Enjoy the outdoors as much as you can. Rainy days are coming, so ignore the lure of your bed and bask in the sunshine as much as you can. Go on a road trip to the nearest beach with your friends or family, get a tan and enjoy the heat of the sun while you still can. If you’re not much of a beach person, you can also take advantage of the weather by going bike-riding or trying your luck at hiking or camping. There are now many camping sites to try in the country.
Take the plunge and do that one thing you’ve always wanted to do. Summer is the season of liberation - most especially from our fears. So if there’s something that you have promised yourself you’d do but never got around to doing, now’s the time to take the plunge. If you’ve always wanted to climb a mountain like Mt. Pulag for example, then it’s time for you to it. Summer only comes once a year so might as well enjoy it by doing something you’ve never done before.

Giving you the confidence to take the plunge is Nestea in a Bottle. With three exciting flavors - Lemon, Lemon Ice, and Apple - Nestea in a Bottle is the perfect companion as people take the plunge and make the most out of life. Celebrating Iced Tea Month: The History of a Drink We Have Grown To Love

In celebration of Iced Tea Month, we trace the glorious history of our beloved drink. Iced tea, despite the folklore[1], was not discovered by accident. It can be dated back to the 18th century in South Carolina, the only place in the United States at that time to produce tea plants. The first iced tea ever made was called Ice Tea Punches because they were heavily spiked with alcohol and were made with green tea leaves, not black.
The first traditional iced tea was introduced in 1879 in Old Virginia, with a recipe by Marion Cabell Tyree. She was the first to include lemon in iced tea. Soon after, it became popular and everyone followed suit. Thus, the traditional iced tea was bornand the rest, as they say, is history.
NESTEA Logo new
Nowadays, anyone can enjoy the refreshing benefits of iced tea anytime, anywhere. There are a lot of brands that offer various flavors, but only one brand has become synonymous to iced tea – Nestea. Nestea has been serving iced tea enthusiasts worldwide since 1948. It provides various countries with different variants and flavors.
In the Philippines, where iced tea is best served sweet, tea lovers can easily bring along and enjoy their favorite refreshment wherever they go with Nestea in a Bottle.

Philippines Joins Global Dental Alliance

ACFF 1
Philippines Joins Global Dental Alliance
Government, dental leaders, the academe, and the private sector sign declaration

The Philippine Dental Association and allied leaders in dentistry, alongside the Department of Health, the University of the Philippines, and the private sector has signed a commitment to stop tooth decay with the launch of the Philippine chapter of the Alliance for a Cavity Free Future (ACFF). The ACFF is a global initiative aimed at stopping one of the most prevalent diseases affecting children and adults, dental caries.
In the Philippines, 92.4% of Filipinos suffer from tooth decay, which are primarily caused by poor oral hygiene, a sugar-rich diet, and rare dental check-ups. Most notably, the frequent ingestion of sugar-rich Filipino staples such as rice result in sugar acids that soften the enamel, resulting in tooth decay. One of the primary goals of ACFF Philippines is that every child born from 2025 should stay cavity-free during their lifetime.

Bed Sharing

My parents bought baby his first and only cradle,
complete with bassinet, hanging toys
 and mosquito net.
We also used this as his play pen for several months too
i love the details
and I let him sleep here during the day while I do my household chores, and design jobs
P.S. - I only let Pengel lay beside him for this photo. Never attempt to pile pillows to avoid SIDS.
But for the past two years, this is our scenario during the night,
This is my night life.
How to be baby-safe during bed sharing?
Tips below were my favorites:
  • Bottle-feeding babies should always sleep alongside the mother on a separate surface rather than in the bed.
  • If bed-sharing, ideally, both parents should agree and feel comfortable with the decision. Each bed-sharer should agree that he or she is equally responsible for the infant and acknowledge that the infant is present. My feeling is that both parents should think of themselves as primary caregivers.
  • Infants a year or less should not sleep with other children siblings -- but always with a person who can take responsibility for the infant being there;
  • Persons on sedatives, medications or drugs, or is intoxicated - -or excessively unable to arouse should not cosleep on the same surface with the infant.
  • Excessively long hair on the mother should be tied up to prevent infant entanglement around the infant's neck -- (yes, it has really happened!)
  • Extremely obese persons, who may not feel where exactly or how close their infant is, may wish to have the infant sleep alongside but on a different surface.
  • It is important to realize that the physical and social conditions under which infant-parent cosleeping occur, in all it's diverse forms, can and will determine the risks or benefits of this behavior. What goes on in bed is what matters.
  • It may be important to consider or reflect on whether you would think that you suffocated your baby if, under the most unlikely scenario, your baby died from SIDS while in your bed. Just as babies can die from SIDS in a risk free solitary sleep environment, it remains possible for a baby to die in a risk-free cosleeping/bed sharing environment. Just make sure, as much as this is possible, that you would not assume that , if the baby died, that either you or your spouse would think that bed-sharing contributed to the death, or that one of your really suffocated (by accident) the infant. It is worth thinking about.
More about co-sleeping here.

Wiggles and Giggles Hair Salon

My hands were the first to cut his hair and of course, it's not that good but passable for a first time barber. (haha) I think I cut his hair thrice already. :) Of course, I tried to prepare him for his first barber experience with enthusiasm and anticipation, how? I let him see men and other boys cut their hair when we passed by a barber's shop in a mall. I'm also aware of haircut salons for kids and I know it would be easier if he had toys and things to settle him in there.
