Century Tuna PRe-Finals Weekend brings excitement to the BGC!

An uber exciting health, fitness, and nutrition event, the Century Tuna Superbods Nation 2016 Pre-Finals Weekend was successfully held at the BGC Ampitheater in Bonifacio Global City as throngs of health enthusiasts, consumers and fans trooped to the venue.

"The Pre-Finals Weekend is a way for us to connect, inspire and encourage our consumers to become better versions of themselves, and I'm happy to say that the event was successfully in doing just that," relates Greg Banzon, Century Pacific Foods General Manager.
 
Now on its 10th year of sexy, the action-packed Pre-Finals Weekend served as the last stop before the ultimate Superbods will be revealed on April 10, 2016 at The Palace Pool Club.

The highly successful undertaking, graced by the fabulous 26 Superbods finalists together with Jessy Mendiola and Elmo Magalona, as well as fitness and nutrition experts, was staged to encourage consumers to stay physically and mentally fit and healthy, where participants took part in a slate of specially planned activities.
 
The Pre-Finals Weekend saw Jessy Mendiola join Chef Nadine Tengco in a cook-out session where delicious yet nutritious dishes were prepared while  Elmo Magalona took part in an intense yet fun Fitness Session with the team of of Coach Jim Saret.
 
Adding delight to attendees and fans alike was the meet and greet with the 26 Superbods finalists, where everyone jostled for selfies and photo op sessions with their favorite contenders. The Circuit Training Session, the Hip Hop dance class with the G-Force, and the Yoga session with actress and fitness buff Bubbles Paraiso also drew quite an audience, all eager to keep fit just like the Superbods!

Then there was adrenaline pumping Superbods Super Challenge 2016' held on the second and final day, which had the 26 superbods finalists pitted against each other, in pairs, through a set of friendly battles: a cross fit circuit race (a test of stamina and speed), a super joust battle (a test of strategy and skill), and the escape room challenge (mind exercising  tests).
 
Female finalists are Olivia Medina, Carmela Fernandez, Ambra Guiterrez, Nancy Leonard, Chet Abella, Maria Martinez, Cassie Umali, Mirtle Gimenez, Kaara Tan, Carla Meneses, Anja Peter, Tanya Hyde and Natalia Lalonde.
 
Male finalists are Jerome Tan, Ryan Sy, Kel Padilla, Erie Obsena, Jake Khan, Pio Luz, Tom Esconde, Cedric Roxas, Shawn Stansbury, Ali Khatibi, Clint Bondad, Ameen Sardouk and Andrew Aurellano.

Chinese-Style Pinadapang Magnolia Chicken sa Dahon ng Kalamansi

Chinese-Style Pinadapang Magnolia Chicken sa Dahon ng Kalamansi is a mouthful name for a recipe that is simple and easy-to-make. Chinese-style Pinadapang Magnolia Chicken sa Dahon ng Kalamansi is a personal rendition of Filipino-dish Pinaupong manok with a twist - chinese style.

Ingredients For Chicken:
  • 1 Magnolia Whole Chicken
  • Ginger
  • Salt
  • Fresh oregano
  • Fresh Kalamansi leaves
  • Water
Procedure For Chicken:
  • Cut the back of the chicken in half and put the kalamansi leaves and fresh oregano inside

  • Rub chicken with salt

  • Chop chunks of ginger. Peel and separate garlic. Toss it to the casserole dish, add 500ml of water and steam the chicken for about 30mins or until meat is cook.

While waiting for the chicken to cook, prepare the dipping sauce.

Ingredients for Dipping Sauce:
  • Olive oil
  • Ginger
  • Salt
  • Spring onions
Procedure for Dipping Sauce:
  • Minced ginger and spring onion

  • Place on a bowl. Pour over salt. Boil 150ml of olive oil and pour over the bed of minced ingredients.
