Documenting Babe's First Week

I don't think it's too early or too late to reminisce my first pregnancy, and now the first few weeks of our little bundle-o-joy. I think whenever my husband and I think about this miraculous journey, our hearts just melt, felt warm and ready to cuddle, :)
Minutes ago after delivery, hubby followed the nurse to the nursing station and took our babe's first ever photo. :)
Here the nurse just wipe him off before dressing and covering him like a taco, you know I get too excited to learn how to swaddle-the-baby, the thing is so amazing, you're like wrapping a burrito! :P Hey, that rhymes!
looking all bulge-up with a lot of hair and no brows and lashes yet, I saw his lashes was tugged just beneath the lid...
One day old Clyde and Lola Ellen ^^
He is so tiny, so small, so delicate, I was so afraid I might hold him too tight I might break him or too loose that he might slip... And was just so thankful my mom was always there to teach me first-hand lectures of Mom 101. :)
Mom and babe :)
It's tiring but it's well worth it! Mind you, time flies so fast, he's turning 7 months this 26! I gotta prioritize my little kiddo so I don't blog that much lately, and soon enough I would be back blogging like there's no tomorrow!

Havaianas Pays it Forward with Design a Smile 2 for the Benefit of Operation Smile

Helping others (especially children in need) while having fun (or better yet, winning prizes) is a win-win a win-win challenge I would always love to join, be part with and participate! And after knowing that Operation Smile (a non-profit group) and Havaianas are having their second launch of project called Design A Smile (DAS) that will help out give free surgery on kids with cleft palates, I'm more than willing to join!

DAS is a series of one-day contests for 5-12 year old kids inviting them to answer the question  "What will you do to make other people smile?" through a drawing. The winning entry will be made into an actual pair of flip flops and proceeds from the sale will fund surgeries.

When was the last time you made someone else smile? That is the question Havaianas asks you as it launches the Havaianas Design a Smile 2, a flip-flops design contest for the benefit of Operation Smile Philippines.
First launched in 2010, Havaianas Design a Smile gives children the chance to show their artistic talents by designing the next Havaianas Smile pair – a special design which will be produced into an actual Havaianas pair. A percentage of the sales will be donated to Operation Smile Philippines, a non-profit organization which provides life-changing surgeries to children with cleft lips and cleft palates. The initial run generated more than 2,000 entries and raised more than PHP 100,000 from donations alone during this period.
“Havaianas believes that summer is a state of mind and can be lived every day of the year whenever you adopt a happy and carefree attitude,“ shares Anne Gonzalez, Managing Director of Havaianas Philippines. “And nowhere else is that more evident than in children. With Havaianas Design a Smile, we hope to generate funds and awareness to support Operation Smile in our shared mission to spread smiles all over the world.”
This November to January, Havaianas Design a Smile 2 is back as the world celebrates Smile Month, with the theme “Paying it Forward: Kids Helping Kids.” Beginning October 22ndNovember 23rd, artistically inclined kids, tweens, and teens enrolled in kinder, grade school, and high school age 5 to 12 years old can join Havaianas Design a Smile by submitting their designs illustrating their answer to the question “What will you do to make other people smile?” at participating All Flip-Flops branches and partner schools nationwide up to November 30 partner events nationwide. Winners will receive exciting prizes from Havaianas, bobble, Pininho, Hobbes and Landes, McDonald’s, and Sony. The grand prize winner will also have his or her design produced as part of the Havaianas 2014 Collection as the Havaianas Smile pair, with a percentage of the sales from which will help fund the operations of Operation Smile.
“The response from our initial run was overwhelming,” says Ammiel de Leon, Group Director, “this year, we hope to enrich our partnership with Operation Smile even more and involve more people all over the Philippines in Havaianas and Operation Smile’s advocacy to give children their smiles.”
