Shelter is one of the basic consumption needs necessary for physical well-being, as introduced by the International Labour Organization’s World Employment Conference in 1976. However, in fast-growing developing countries like the Philippines, affordable and accessible housing is still not available for a vast majority of the population, especially those below the poverty line.
In line with this, Habitat for Humanity is hosting a satellite event for the Asia-Pacific Housing Forum 5 themed Building Impact on September 3-4 alongside the main conference in Hong Kong. The forum will focus on Building Leadership capacity for those at the forefront of shelter advocacy; Impacting Communities for sustainable housing solutions; Building Markets to explore the shelter needs of low-income families; and Impacting Society by calling all advocates to work together for a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
As a brand that also advocates that Filipinos should have access to their primary needs, Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water supports this forum. Safe and clean drinking water will be provided at the event, a basic need for all humans just like decent housing. The only brand in the Philippines certified by the National Sanitation Foundation, an independent, US-based organization that provides public health and safety standards for consumers, Absolute hopes to work together with Habitat for Humanity to bring about real solutions that have positive and lasting effects on the community.
