Isla Group of Companies, the mother company of leading LPG brand Solane, announced it has reached 13 million man hours without lost time injury, a significant milestone in its goal towards making an incident and injury-free company. This outstanding achievement reiterated the company’s commitment to health, safety and environment (HSE) standards and the strict compliance of all employees, haulers and contractors to safety policies and procedures in all aspects of the business.
Solane employees and contractors celebrate 13 million man hours without lost time injury.
Isla Group of Companies, which includes Isla Petroleum & Gas (IPG), Isla LPG Corp. (ILC), and Isla Gas Terminal, Inc. (IGTI), averages one million man hours every year. During this period, there has been no record of major injury or fatality in the workplace, which would have resulted in the loss of productive work time.
IPG chief executive officer Shoichi Watanabe congratulated the employees for “taking no shortcuts to safety and for every step taken towards this great milestone.” He also expressed his gratitude to them for fully understanding and performing their duties.
Isla Group will continue on the road to achieving 14 million man hours without lost time injury next year by giving prime importance to HSE standards and delivering safe and reliable LPG products and services. The end goal is not just to celebrate a milestone, but to create a worry-free and safe workplace for everyone, may it be in the offices, plants sites, road transport, and with the distributor network and business partners.
“I am very grateful to everyone at IPG Group. With our high standards and steadfastness to do what is right, we can sustain a sterling HSE performance. I look forward to achieving many more HSE milestones – for our company and for our families,” said Isla LPG Corp. chief executive officer Ruben Domingo.
